Being Irish Is the Only Reason to Enjoy March!
MARCH 3rd – What If Cats Had Opposable Thumbs Day – Imagine a world where our favorite furry companions had thumbs. Opposable ones… Thumbs that allowed them to open their own tins of food, easily steal your possessions and generally make them more trouble than they already are. What kind of world would that be?
MARCH 3rd – 9th is Professional Pet Sitters Week – There is an entire week honoring Kitten Sittin’ sitters and my fellow pet sitters across the country. Send your favorite sitter a card and tell them how much they are appreciated.
March 17th – National Animal Poison Prevention Week – Look around the house for any easily opened cabinets that contain household cleaners. Especially check the garage for car, house, or garden poisonous products.
MARCH 17th – Happy St. Catrick’s Day – The most famous Irish Poem – Pangur Ban is a poem, written by an Irish monk abroad, that has survived from the 6th Century. Yes, it is about a cat. And centuries later we are still obsessed with cats.
Some Irish “CAT” Proverbs:
It is to please herself that the cat purrs.
The Cat is always dignified, until the dog comes by.
If the Cat sits long enough at the hole, she will catch the mouse.
MARCH 28th – Respect Your Cat Day – What a great month it is – honoring Pet Sitters and respecting cats. But what does R-E-S-P-E-C-T (in the words of Aretha) mean to kitty? Read March’s Pat’s Cat’s Corner and find out.
