Providing Care... When You're Not There™

One Month Down and 11 to Go!

The entire month of February is dedicated to two cat care topics – National Cat Health Month and National Pet Dental Health Month.

If you’re like many cat owners who are lax about getting regular checkups for your feline friends, it’s a good time to get them in for a vet visit.  By numbers alone, Americans have a love affair with cats. As house pets, they outnumber dogs: 82 million cats vs. 71 million dogs.  But cats are the Rodney Dangerfield of pets – they often get no respect.  Remember, cats can hide illness or pain, so millions don’t see a vet until they’re profoundly ill.

FEBRUARY 3RD - you can explore the role of cats, lions, and feline creatures at the Divine Felines: Cats of Ancient Egypt exhibition running from Feb. 3 through April 3 at the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture in Knoxville, Tennessee.

FEBRUARY 7TH the newest Miranda James book in the bestselling Cat in the Stacks mystery series, No Cats Allowed will be available to buy.  February is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and follow the sleuthing of librarian Charlie Harris and his Maine Coon cat, Diesel.

FEBRUARY 14TH is National Pet-Theft Awareness Day. Yes, there really are people out there who steal pets, as horrible as it is to think about.
